Please end the Presidents intervention in Libya's civil war!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Pursuant to section 5(c) of the War Powers Resolution (50 U.S.C. 1544(c)), Congress directs the President to remove the United States Armed Forces from Libya by not later than the date that is 15 days after the date of the adoption of this concurrent resolution."  H.CON.RES.51.IH
Rep. Dennis Kucinich has introduced H.Con.Res.51, a resolution ordering President Obama to withdraw armed forces from the war on Libya. This resolution is scheduled for a House vote TOMORROW, Wednesday June 1.
There is bipartisan skepticism toward U.S. intervention in Libya's civil war. We strongly encourage you to tell your Representative and Senators to support this resolution using DownsizeDC.org's "Stay out of Libya" campaign.
The hard-wired message states, "Please end the President's intervention in Libya's civil war."
To this I added these personal comments, which you may borrow from or copy . . .
I support Rep. Kucinich's H.Con.Res.51, a resolution that directs the President to remove our military from Libya.
The President violated the Constitution and launched this war with no form of Congressional authorization whatsoever.
Even AFTER launching the war, the President has never explained how this war impacts U.S. security interests. Perhaps even the President realizes it is AGAINST our interests because .

Motivational Leadership By Brian Tracy.

Motivational Leadership
By Brian Tracy

Motivational leadership is based on The Law of Indirect Effort.
According to this law, most things in life are achieved more easily by
indirect means than they are by direct means. You more easily become a
leader to others by demonstrating that you have the qualities of
leadership
than you do by ordering others to follow your directions.
Instead of trying to get people to emulate you, you concentrate on
living a life that is so admirable that others want to be like you
without your saying a word.

The Most Powerful Motivational Leaders
Perhaps the most powerful motivational leader is the person who
practices what is called "servant leadership." Confucius said, "He who
would be master must be servant of all." The person who sees himself
or herself as a servant to others and who does everything possible to
help them perform at their best is practicing the highest form of
servant leadership.

Libertarianism vs. Statism

All of us have been born and raised within a statist box, one in which the federal government’s primary roles are to take care of people, regulate their economic activities, and maintain an overseas military empire that intervenes in the affairs of other countries.

Both liberals and conservatives have come to accept this statist box as a permanent feature of American life. Even worse, they have convinced themselves that life in this statist box is actually freedom.

What makes libertarians different from liberals and conservatives is that, although we too have been born and raised within the statist box, we have broken free of it, in an intellectual and moral sense. Moreover, unlike liberals and conservatives, we recognize that statism isn’t freedom at all. It’s the opposite of freedom. Genuine freedom, libertarians contend, entails a dismantling of the statist box in which we all live.

Ban on Internet cafes among first bills filed for 2012 | The Florida Current

Ban on Internet cafes among first bills filed for 2012 | The Florida Current

Scott Plakon R- Longwood, wants to ban Internet Cafe's, thats right want to ban internet cafes because they are not regulated and earn about $100,000 a week. I dont see a problem with that. I dont see the internet cafes running out and dragging people in against their free will. What ADULTS do is not of your concern, especially GOVERNMENT! As long as i'm not infringing or harming anyone else, i'm not doing anything wrong.Including YOU. Once again government is trying to make sure we behave and do what they say. Well this is one of the first bills posted for the 2012 legislation. HB3 is filed by Scott Plakon R- Longwood.

The Debt Ceiling needed to bring A Balanced Budget

Quote of the Day: "I have always believed that government had a limited capacity to do good and a virtually infinite capacity to do harm..." -- Neil Hamilton, Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom (Source: House of Commons debates, 8 February 1994)
Earlier this year, we thought we'd be willing to trade an increase in the debt ceiling for something of lasting value -- like a balanced budget amendment. We now think that's a strategic mistake.
The real strategic opportunity lies in the debt ceiling itself. As long as we maintain THAT, then nothing else needs to be done to balance the budget.

Dont worry Mr. Rubio, i won't hold my breath!

Thank you for contacting me in regard to the Federal Reserve and the Federal Reserve Transparency Act. The economic crisis and its effects on our economy continue to be some of the biggest challenges facing our nation. As Florida's junior Senator, it is my priority to address these issues and achieve a successful transition to a fiscally sound state and nation.

In response to the financial crisis of 2008, President Obama and a Democratic led Congress passed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (H.R. 4173). The Dodd-Frank Act was signed into law on July 21, 201, and imposes ill-suited and overreaching regulations on our financial system. Under Dodd-Frank, the Federal Reserve was supposed to become a more transparent entity; but these reforms have yet to improve transparency as the majority of the Federal Reserve's operations have continued to remain private. The Federal Reserve must be accountable to Congress and the public at large.

The Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2011 (S. 202) would require an audit of the Federal Reserve and the Federal Reserve banks before the end of 2012, conducted by the Comptroller General of the United States. The Comptroller General would then present a full report to Congress. This legislation aims to hold the Federal Reserve accountable for its decisions and force it to reveal its monetary policies; both are goals which I support.

Should legislation related to the Federal Reserve come before the Senate for consideration, I will keep your thoughts in mind. Again, I thank you for your input and look forward to hearing from you again.

A Act for Endless Wars, hell no!

This week, the House will consider the annual "National Defense Authorization Act." (H.R. 1540)
As the letter below reveals, it contains an obscure section (Sec. 1034) so poorly worded that it could . . .
. . . create a permanent military dictatorship in the United States of America!
That's not hyperbole.
There are lots of other things wrong with this bill too, but it is CRUCIAL that this dangerous section be omitted.
The hard-wired letter to Congress begins:
I am not afraid of terrorism, and I want you to stop being afraid on my behalf. Please start scaling back the official government war on terror. Please replace it with a smaller, more focused anti-terrorist police effort in keeping with the rule of law.

With this Congress, New "Read the Bills Act". again

Quote of the Day: "A constitution is not the act of a government, but of a people constituting a government; and government without a constitution is power without a right. All power exercised over a nation, must have some beginning. It must be either delegated, or assumed. There are not other sources. All delegated power is trust, and all assumed power is usurpation. Time does not alter the nature and quality of either." -- Thomas Paine (1737-1809)
A few months ago we announced pledges from two members of the House, and one Senator, Rand Paul, to introduce our Downsize DC Agenda bills -- "Read the Bills," "Write the Laws," and "One Subject at a Time." We told you we needed to do the following . . .
 * Make sure our own bills comply with the requirements in those bills -- for instance, make sure they deal with only one subject
 * Comply with the Enumerated Powers Act, which we were promoting, and which is now a rule in the House
 * Make sure our bills would survive review by the Congressional Legislative Counsel, which provides the final text of all legislation introduced in Congress
While we were at it, we also thought we'd look for opportunities to improve the bills, if possible, and we found a few.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to pay for this legal work. The project turned out to be extensive, taking months, squeezed in between other priorities. But we're now happy to announce that the work is done, and we're moving forward with getting these bills introduced.

Dictate policy to Israel , Ok we need to take our own medicine!

The President Obama stated Israel ,Needs to go back to 1967 borders. Wow how far back does the U.S. needs to go. After all we purchased Alaska from Russia on a steal, maybe Alaska goes back,Hawaii was discovered by Captain Cook , British Sailor or back to the Polynesians .Florida needs to go back to the Seminoles and Creeks.

Stay out of Libya, Damn it, it's like George Bush all over again!

When DownsizeDC.org launched our "Stay Out of Libya" campaign on March 15, President Obama hadn't yet dropped bombs on that nation.
In fact, we were optimistic that he wouldn't. President Obama and Defense Secretary Gates seemed reluctant to start this war, and we wanted to encourage members of Congress to speak out against war and counter vocal extremists such as Senators Kerry, McCain, and Lieberman. But on March 19 the President started bombing Libya, a country that didn't provoke or pose any actual threat to the United States.

You can have my internet after you pry it from my cold dead hard drive!

Quote of the Day: "Liberty is the possibility of doubting, the possibility of making a mistake, the possibility of searching and experimenting, the possibility of saying "No" to any authority -- literary, artistic, philosophic, religious, social and even political." -- Ignazio Silone (1900-1978) Source: The God That Failed, 1950
The politicians are trying to tax the Internet again. Let's stop them.
I just sent the letter below using our "Hands Off the Internet" campaign.

Take to the House, and call !

Quote of the Day: "Give me a long enough lever and a place to stand, and I can move the world." -- Archimedes
This is about how you can get Speaker of the House, John Boehner, and House Majority Leader, Eric Cantor, to do what you want.
These two men lead the House Republicans. If they oppose raising the debt ceiling then so will most House Republicans. Congress would have to stop borrowing money and balance the budget immediately.
Think about what I'm saying . . .
The fate of trillions of dollar in wasteful, unconstitutional spending rests in the hands of just two men -- John Boehner and Eric Cantor.

Hypocrite Democrat Anti-Gun Senator Shoots Intruder

Interesting little story here.

Hypocrite Democrat Anti-Gun Senator Shoots Intruder

State Senator R.C. Soles (D--NC) long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City, NC about 5 p.m. Sunday.

The intruder, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen and Brunswick counties.  The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff's Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said.  Soles, who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening.  "I am not in a position to talk to you," Soles said by telephone. "I'm right in the middle of an investigation."  The Senator, who has made a career of being against gun ownership for the general public, didn't hesitate to defend himself with his own gun when he believed he was in immediate danger and he was the victim.

Another Letter from Senator Nelson

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Federal Reserve (the Fed). I understand your concerns about the Fed and the actions they’ve taken to stabilize the economy.

The Federal Reserve System was created to provide a ready reserve of liquid assets in case of financial emergency and to formulate monetary policy free from political influence. The seven members of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate to serve a 14-year term each.

I understand the importance of an independent central bank, but I believe the Fed must show more discretion in its actions and provide a greater amount of transparency. That’s why I recently voted in favor of a measure attached to the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (P.L. 111-203) that calls for a comprehensive review of the Federal Reserve's emergency lending activities. Under the terms of the bill, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) will audit the Fed to see which companies received upwards of $2 trillion in aid, and under what terms. Furthermore, GAO will be able to audit any future emergency actions taken by the Fed under the authority of the Financial Stability Oversight Council.

I know that Americans are worried about the risk of rapid inflation or deflation, please know that I will continue to support common-sense reforms in the Senate that will strengthen our economy and restore trust in our financial system. If you have any future concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me again.

                                   Sincerely,
                                   Senator Bill Nelson

Get out of Afghanistan!

This gives you a tool to tell Congress what most American want.
The hard-wired message says simply: "Please support legislation to pull the troops out of Afghanistan."
Why should the U.S. pull out of Afghanistan? I explain in my personal comments, which you can read below. You may borrow from or copy it:
Can we go home now?
The U.S. invaded Afghanistan in 2001 to capture Osama bin Laden, the leader of the terror group Al Qaeda that was accused of pulling off the 9/11 attacks.
Mission accomplished!
* Osama bin Laden is dead
* There are fewer than 100 Al Qaeda operatives in Afghanistan (http://abcn.ws/9PsIuv)

What will we achieve by remaining in Afghanistan?
We have won the war, but we are losing the occupation. We have 150,000 troops in the country, and yet . .

Cheney says Dont leave Afghanistan just yet.

WASHINGTON -- Former Vice President Dick Cheney warned the Obama administration on Sunday not to hasten the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan.
"I'm a bit concerned that we're now going to see a situation where because we've got bin Laden, there will be a rush to get out of Afghanistan, to pack up troops and say the task is done and we can leave," said Cheney in an interview with "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace. "I'm not sure that's wise at all."
In recent days, an increasing number of voices have called on the Obama administration to reevaluate its strategy in Afghanistan in light of the death of bin Laden in Pakistan.
Perhaps the strongest shift by a lawmaker this past week came from Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.), who supported President Obama's surge of troops in Afghanistan and had chastised colleagues for wanting to withdraw from the country.
"We should reevaluate our commitment there given the death of bin Laden, the toll on our troops, and our budget situation," Stearns said in a statement to The Huffington Post. "In other words, we need to come home sometime, and the sooner the better."
When pressed by Wallace whether it was necessary to still have 100,000 troops on the ground in Afghanistan, especially in light of the fact that bin Laden was killed "deep in the heart of Pakistan" by a small group of Navy SEALs, Cheney acknowledged that it was "entirely possible we could change some aspect of our policy."
"What I don't want to see happen is what happened again in the 1980s," added Cheney. "After we solved the Soviet problem, everybody left Afghanistan. And ultimately, the Taliban took control, Osama bin Laden showed up and it became a safe harbor. They trained 27,000-some terrorists, and they launched an attack against the United States. If we turn and walk away from Pakistan and Afghanistan or that part of the world generally, I'm fearful that we're headed for trouble down the road. ... I don't think we need to run for the exits."

WATCH:
So far, Obama administration officials haven't publicly stated on the record that they are considering a change in policy regarding Afghanistan. White House spokesman Jay Carney recently said that their strategy "remains unchanged."
On "Fox News Sunday," White House National Security Adviser Tom Donilon said that although bin Laden's death was a "big step" toward the "strategic defeat of al Qaeda," U.S. forces have to ensure that Afghanistan does not become a safe haven for the terrorist group.
"The drawdown pace and numbers -- that will be decided on decisions going forward. Those decisions haven't been made," said Donilon.
But a "senior administration official" recently told The Washington Post that bin Laden's death was "the beginning of the endgame in Afghanistan." "It changes everything," added the official.
In March, President Bush told Fox News' Greta Van Susteren that he doesn't believe it's time to withdraw from Afghanistan yet, saying he was concerned about what would happen to women's rights.

Bin Laden Body

Bin Laden's Body
Posted by James Leroy Wilson
The hardwired message for that campaign reads . . .
Here's another example of why I don't trust my government, and why I want it to do less.
Here are my personal comments, from which you may borrow if you want to send a similar letter .

Really Audit the Fed

On January 26, Representative Ron Paul again introduced legislation to audit the Fed. It now has 156 co-sponsors. Senator Rand Paul introduced an identical bill in the Senate. It has 3 co-sponsors.
To see the sponsors . . .
You may recall that this bill was derailed last year when it was inserted as an amendment to another bill. Now it's time to try again.Let's get a REAL audit of ALL the Fed's operations.
That's why I sent this letter to my representatives today. You may borrow from or copy it, or write one of your own

Do something by doing nothing good, idea congress

Quote of the Day: "Bureaucracy defends the status quo long past the time when the quo has lost its status." -- Laurence J. Peter, best known for the formulation of the 'Peter Principle'
Some provisions of the Patriot Act are due to expire. We have less than a month to fight renewal. Other groups are trying to reform the PATRIOT Act. We concentrate on repealing it, because that's what we want, and because it's also the best way to spur better reform. Toward that end . . .
I sent the following letter to my elected representatives this morning. You can copy or borrow from my comments to construct your own letter . . .

Over-the-counter drugs can kill you

Over-the-counter drugs can kill you
Wow ,this is news. After the birth certificate fiasco with Donald Trump and President Obama, i guess we are down to this. Over the counter drugs can kill you. But never fear, i have a solution. Here it goes, LEGALIZE MARIJUANA dumb asses. You want to save lives, legalize it, but if you do guess you will have to let out some of those prisoners ,who were caught with possession and other little charges too. And guess what? Prison population will go down and the budget to run and maintain those prisons will go down, saving the state tons of taxpayer dollars, my G-d what a novel idea. Saving the taxpayer millions of dollars and saving lives ,with medicinal weed and give people a choice. Prescription, over the counter or weed, two pain killers, will kill you and the pain, and one, will kill the pain and make everything alright, except for the munchies of course.

Now justice got served. Sorry for the corny line, but now BSO( Broward Sheriff Office) really stepped in it this time.Well with cops given the power they are so willing to take under the guise that it will fight crime or get tough on crime, dont realize, that one time you are going to be face to face with a judge or some with a whole lot of power and buddy be ready for the backlash from it too. Now here come the citizens packin a pistol.
